OR-YEHUDA, Israel--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 15, 2006--Do-Coop Technologies Ltd., a privately held corporation based in Israel, announced today the launch of its new and unique "Challenge Us!" program and kit at the qPCR Conference in San Diego next week. The program aims at solving difficult, inefficient and sub-optimal biological reactions using its proprietary water-based nanotechnology, Neowater(TM). The first stage of the program, which is free of charge for a limited time, will focus on PCR and qPCR reactions, especially those difficult ones such as GC-rich or with poor-quality and small number of amplicons.

About Neowater

Neowater is an enabling technology that is based on breakthrough water-based nanotechnology. Unlike traditional, dry nanotechnology, which focuses on a nanoparticle end product, Neowater builds upon the unique properties of nanoparticles to modify the physical properties of water molecules around them.

Each nanoparticle within Neowater, with its huge surface, creates an effect known as the "surface effect," and in turn organizes the water molecules surrounding it. This is similar to the surface effect of organelles within living cells. Both the organelles and the nanoparticles use this unique mechanism to create intracellular water. While the former is within cells and organs and cannot be harnessed nor used in a lab bench, the latter one, which is branded as Neowater, can.

This technology, developed in Israel, produces water whose physical properties mimic that of intracellular water using inorganic, insoluble crystals introduced in water in a patented process. Neowater, with its stable system of largely hydrated nano-particles, like non-ionic detergent derived micelles, reduces the entropy of aqueous solutions. In addition, by design, it exhibits both hydrophilic and hydrophobic properties.

Neowater-based products significantly accelerate and improve the efficiency of biological reactions.

About the "Challenge Us!" Program

"Over the past year, and since the commercial launch of our Neowater-based enhancer products focused on enhancing difficult PCR, qPCR, cloning and transfection reactions, we have been able to help many customers around the world to address and overcome their technological barriers hindering efficient reactions. We have gained a lot of hands on experience, and can now apply this know-how to solve difficult chemical or biological reactions using Neowater technology," said Eran Gabbai, founder, President and CTO of Do-Coop Technologies, and the inventor of Neowater technology.

As part of this program, Do-Coop is releasing a new Neowater "Challenge Us!" kit, which includes Neowater - PCR Enhancer and a novel lyophilized PCR mix. The "Challenge Us!" Kit can be shipped and stored at room temperature, and includes the lyophilized primers and templates as well as the lyophilized enzyme in the mix. Simply add Neowater to the provided PCR tubes, follow the kit's protocol, and amplify the template in short cycles. In parallel, you may try to amplify the template using the provided primers with regular water or even with your favorite vendor's PCR mix.

"The 'Challenge Us!' kit is a room-temperature product that clearly demonstrates the ability of Neowater technology to hydrate and activate at the molecular level and thus overcome GC-rich, difficult PCR reactions, where there are no available solutions. In addition, while there may be some other solutions, Neowater technology dramatically reduces the cycle time, number of cycles, amount of enzyme required, while increasing the reaction's efficiency, sensitivity and yield in a dramatic departure from traditional, regular water-based reagents. And the unique ability of Neowater to wet and thus activate molecules at nano-level layers, enables us to supply customers with convenient room-temperature products, that further reduce total costs and save researchers a lot of valuable time," added Gabbai.

Do-Coop Technologies continues to add novel products that dramatically enhance upstream research and diagnostic processes. The new products, with validated third-party results, provide researchers with an easy yet effective way to enhance reactions without the need to change equipment or protocols. All that is required when using the Neowater enhancer product family is to activate the reaction's components with Neowater enhancer and proceed as usual while reading the product user guidelines that is included with each separate product, for each application.

"Our immediate plans include the introduction of novel downstream products such as protein expression and purification enhancers, protein and enzyme stabilizers and diagnostic kit enhancers, as well as solubilization enhancers for insoluble, hydrophobic molecules, all of which are based on Neowater technology," concluded Gabbai.

Do-Coop Technologies is sponsoring the qPCR conference in San Diego on March 19-21, 2006, and will present its Neowater technology and introduce its "Challenge Us!" kit during the conference.
